This work was inspired by the American
composer, Ruth Crawford Seeger. She was known for her
highly dissonant and atonal approach to music composition
and also for her love as a teacher of young children.
Her “String Quartet” of 1931 was a work many years ahead
of it’s time and influenced this quartet greatly.
