"Dance Preludes" for piano (four hands)

Updated: Jul 23, 2019

The Dance Preludes for piano four hands were influenced by the Polish composer, Witold Lutoslawski. His music was influenced greatly by Polish folk songs. He is noted for his ability to create “rich atmospheric textures” through his explorations of augmented fourths and semi-tones. He is recognized as one of Poland’s greatest composers

This is a large-scale work for piano (four hands), it stands as my most complex and detailed ensemble work for the piano. The video below represents one of the most successful performances that I have heard presented on youtube.

Composed by Timothy Brown. Edited by Phyllis Lehrer / Helen Marlais. This work can be found in the FJH Contemporary Keyboard Editions. This title is on the 2017-2021 National Federation of Music Clubs list. Book. Published by The FJH Music Company Inc (FJ.J1025).
